| In the 2004 White Peak marathon I "hit the wall" repeatedly. My legs were hurting badly, but fter a mouthful of isotonic the pain would go away for a while...later, another mouthful would banish it again. This process continued until the drink ran out! Hydration helps with endurance, has been linked to decision making and helps fight altitude headaches. In very cold conditions dehydration has also been linked to frost bite as thicker blood further reduces circulation to the extremities. |
